So I decided to join the rest of the loonies on this interweb thing and post my thoughts (However, shocking they may be) online for the rest of the world to see. We’ll see how that goes. So far the experience has been good. This wordpress delio is really, really easy to setup; too bad not all software is like that.
I figure this will be a nice place to post a brain dump to keep track of what’s going in my head. I always say A.D.D (Attention Defecit Disorder for those of you not in the know) is the best & worst thing in my life.
I’ll also post my doings on any projects I’m working on atm. Right now I’m working on “Desktop Drapes” it’s a Random wallpaper switching application type thing for Gnome. It’s written in C# using mono, why? Well I figured I’d give it a shot, and it be nice to have one that is recent and dosen’t suck/crash (or both). I also figured learn I’d some C# and that whole deal. Coming from the C/C++ world (more so C) there a lot of differences good and bad. Right I’m making good progress, and I’ll have a 0.5 release out sometime. I have a lot of things that I plan doing with it (RSS, Avahi support, other things), but right now I’m working on getting the basics down. I won’t put 0.5 out till it works well, and works reliably. Last thing we the OSS world needs is another shitty OSS application (not to put down a lot of great OSS applications, but there are some pretty cruddy ones out there).
