I’m Milosz, a twenty something year old software engineer currently I residing in Brooklyn, NY. This blog is dedicated to things I work on and things I enjoy in life. The topics will range from software engineering, cooking, traveling, politics, and random things I find fascinating.
I currently work Admeld on the ad server code. I never thought I would end up in online advertising (or any kind of advertising), but here I am. The gig is very fun and includes a lot of work on a decentralized architecture that has to be high performance and has to scale linearly. And not only do we have to be fast in our our ad serving logic but we also have to smart to stay ahead of our competitors. Ultimately what makes the job even sweeter is that I work with mostly open source software. Not only OSS software but also the latest and greatest open source software. I spent a lot of time working on Apache modules, Unix daemons on top of Linux. Mostly working in C (we have to be fast) with whatever other languages / tools that can do the job.
As much as I feel like New York can rob you of your soul (if you let it) I also think it’s the only place I can really live in the United States. As much as we like to complain about the MTA here it is the best public transportation system in this country. This place never ceases to amaze me, plus there’s a good tech scene here to boot.
